Been looking around for quite some time to find a plastic standoff for
my ladder line

i need to attach it to a regular 1 1/4 tv style mast and standoff about
4-6 inches and hold the ladderline

does anyone know of any SPECIFIC places, url's company's, etc where i
can get some?

thanks

I normally use pieces of wood. In one end drill a hole to go over the mast.
At the other end cut the center section out leaving two ends with the inside
dimension slightly larger than the width of the ladderline insulator. Kind
of a letter "U". Cover with spar varnish, at the mast end use a drywall
screw through the piece of wood in to the mast. I normally predrill a 1/16"
hole before putting in the screw.

On the "U" end the inside of the "U" should be just wide enough so the ends
of the insulators on the ladder line fit snuggly into the "U". From one side
of the "U" put a drywall screw and let it go through and just tight against
the insulator to hold it in place. It is a lot easier to do than describe.

I normally mount mine at least 12" from the mast and use a board every 5
feet or so.

Just one solution, I am sure you will get many others.

Good Luck

thanks to all those that responded, i should have mentioned that things
with metal such as hose clamps or screws are out as the metal would
bother either the ladder line or nearby antennas prob be small, effect
i guess but still wish to avoid metal

my mast is pvc-- the idea of using pvt T's i think was interesting i
thought of it but didn't kinda workout right, the electric fence
post standoffs were great i've got a few kinds however i can't fine a
way to mount them onto a round pipe the fence standoffs have a hole to
mount via a nail /screw into a flat surface and i didn't want to use a
metal nail

i can't really seem to find anything that would be able to clamp onto a
round pipe stick out about 5in or so, and be nonconducting w/a 'thing'
that could 'hold' ladderline

considering just desiging one and having a plastic company make them for
me custom, if there was a bunch of people /ie a small market for them
it might break even enough to cover the costs i dunno if anyone else
ever has this particular or pecular need??

anyone want any?? i mean would you buy a bag of them for a few dollars?

Use UV resistant tie wraps.
Feed the tie wrap through the insulator loop over the wire/ladder and
feed back into the insulator. Fasten the tie wrap around the pipe.

Report back.

A metal nail is resonant at such a high frequency that it
wouldn't bother anything. How about brass screws?

You should be able to attach the electric fence standoffs
to the pole using black UV-resistant tie wraps. You may
have to drill a hole at the proper place on the standoffs.

Doesn't Rat Shack sell cable standoffs that could be adapted for ladder
line?

Home Depot: 1/'2 PVC or ABS pipe, matching T's, stainless hose clamps.
Clamp one T to the mast, melt or cut a notch in the other T for the
ladderline. Buy threaded pipe and T's or unthreaded and a can of glue.
Put a floor flange on end end instead of a T to bolt to side of
building. Good luck.

Take a look at plastic electric fence standoffs
available at farm supply places and large home
improvement places. That's what I used. The end
that holds the electric wire fits through the
window in 450 ohm ladder-line.

I use those twin standoffs once intended for two 240ohms ribbon
feedlines.
